SEISS Round 3 - Deadline This Friday
Just a quick reminder that the deadline for claims under the third round of Self Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) grants is this Friday 29 January.
As a reminder, the grant will pay 80% of average monthly profits from the 2017, 18 and 19 tax years up to a maximum of £3,125 where qualifying self employment or partnership trade has been affected by Covid during the months of November and December 2020 and January 2021 (so £9,375 across the three months) – therefore the maximum grant that can be claimed in this round of funding is £7,500.
Eligible sole traders and/or partnership members must:
- Have been eligible for the first and second SEISS grants (although don’t need to have claimed them),
- Be currently trading, intend to continue trading but have suffered due to reduced demand as a result of Coronavirus, or
- Have previously traded, intend to continue trading but have had to temporarily stop trading due to Coronavirus.
As with previous versions of the scheme, claims should be made via the government gateway.
A fourth round of grants covering the period February to April is due to commence from 1 February, however there have been no details given as to the size or the timing of their availability as yet (it is expected to be announced as part of the Chancellor’s Budget on 3 March) – we will of course provide updates when we have them.
