Ashleigh Wood Appointed as a Director of DSA Prospect
We’re proud to announce the promotion of Ashleigh Wood from Associate to Director as of the 1st October 2022.
Ashleigh joined DSA Prospect in October 2019 and has made incredible contributions to the development of the firm and our team. She has over ten years of experience in the industry, evidenced by her ability to continually exceed our clients’ expectations and we are confident that Ashleigh will continue to represent DSA Prospect brilliantly as a Director.
The Importance of Company Culture
Achieving continued growth of our firm is largely reliant on finding the right people who not only believe in what we’re doing, but also have the passion to drive it forward. This is why our ethos is built on an integral foundation focussed on creating a company & culture where people can thrive. Not only is Ashleigh's rising through the ranks in just three years a testament to our process, it also demonstrates how she embodies our core values.
It was dedication to her leadership role, a belief in our vision and contributions to the growth of DSA Prospect that saw Ashleigh promoted to Associate in 2020, and it is these same qualities that have now guided her to the role of Director.
Women in Accounting
While the role of women in accounting has been improving over time, there is still a long way our industry must go. ICAEW’s article From Pioneers to Parity: 100 Years of Women in ICAEW reveals that in smaller firms with fewer than 200 employees, 52% of women reach manager-level roles in the profession, while only 11% rise to the top level roles. When looking at the broader UK market, the percentage of women on FTSE 100 boards has only just recently reached 33%.
As the first female Director at DSA Prospect, and a new mother balancing life and work, our hope is that Ashleigh will help pave the way for others in a similar position looking to progress their careers to the director level. We are confident that Ashleigh will be an inspiration to many women not only in our firm but also across the industry.
A Look Towards the Future
It has been a privilege to see Ashleigh grow as a leader over these past three years, from fostering relationships to taking a key role in bringing our company culture to life. Her enthusiasm and ability to lead with optimism and empathy will be an invaluable addition to our Board of Directors and the growth of the business.
In order to build a great team, you must have great leaders - we’re excited to see how Ashleigh's influence will continue to unlock the full potential of DSA Prospect.
